Description
Fender 2024 MIJ FSR Traditional II 60s Jazzmaster Shell Pink
Why we love it
A sweet as candy Shell Pink limited production made in Japan Jazzmaster that captures the incredible feel and tone of its vintage cousins.
Condition
This guitar is in Excellent condition and has not been previously owned. It was purchased brand new but does have a minor flaw in the finish on the front of the guitar (pictured). There are three small concave spots on the front of the body only visible from certain angles. There is no break in the poly finish or paint. This guitar was tested upon arrival to ensure good neck condition, truss rod function, and electronics function. The original tremolo bar, Fender gig bag, warranty card, and wrench are included. This guitar has been professionally set up with medium action, optimal neck relief, and dialed in intonation. This Jazzmaster weighs 8 pounds.
Overview
An homage to 1960s Jazzmasters, this guitar features a basswood body with immaculately applied Shell Pink paint, gloss polyester topcoat and mint 3-ply pickguard. The easy playing gloss finish 25.5-inch scale maple neck features the same comfortable U-shaped profile as the standard model, but the headstock is now finished in Shell Pink to match the body. There is also some light flaming and figuring in the maple neck. A striking slab of vibrantly figured rosewood was selected for the 9.5-inch radius fingerboard with 21 superbly finished Vintage size frets and white dot position markers. Width at the bone nut is 1.615″ (41.02 mm). A vintage-style adjustable bridge with “floating” tremolo and vintage-style chrome die cast tuning machines complete the hardware complement.
Electronics and Tone
Current production made in Japan Jazzmasters always seem to have a lively, dynamic unplugged tone and feel that translates incredibly well when plugged in to your favorite tube amp. Vintage-style Single Coil Jazzmaster pickups are used for both neck and bridge position. They do a great job cranking out full, clear, bell-like sound, capable of dishing up fantastic chimey clean tones as well as wonderful edge of breakup and crunch tones.
