Overview
This 2024 Fender MIJ Traditional II 60s Jaguar takes the best features of the original ’60s icon and augments with a few expertly selected aftermarket style updates. A limited production model crafted as part of a Fender Special Run for a single Japanese retailer, this guitar was sourced brand-new from Japan and offers an enhanced vintage experience with rock-solid Japanese craftsmanship.
Exuding boutique sophistication with its sleek glossy black offset body, this FSR version has been upgraded with an alder body, striking gold anodized aluminum pickgard, black pickup covers, black witch hat style knobs, and a buzz stop bar. The 9.5-inch radius “U”-shaped maple neck provides a comfortable, substantial feel that’s easy to navigate and is topped by a milk chocolatey rosewood fingerboard and ivory dot inlays. 22 meticulously finished medium jumbo frets enhance classic Jaguar playability, allowing strings to be pressed with less force and be more suitable for technical playing. The 6-saddle vintage-style bridge with floating tremolo tailpiece and buzz stop bar ensure stable tuning and string placement on the bridge.

Electronics and Tone
This Jaguar has a rock vibe and fantastic for crunchy riffs, yet its unique circuit switching options offer plenty of tonal versatility for any genre. Equipped with Traditional Single-Coil Jaguar pickups, this guitar embodies all the qualities that define the quintessential Jaguar sound. The neck pickup produces well-defined, round, and sweet tones without sounding flabby or muddy, while the bridge pickup delivers that iconic aggressive chime and snarl effortlessly. These pickups offer classic Fender clarity with sparkle and jangle. The buzz stop bar not only maintains string tension for a taut, focused sound but also helps prevent strings from sliding off the bridge during hard playing. Expect focused lows, brilliant highs, and plenty of that signature Jaguar snarl and aggression. Premium USA-spec CTS pots and Switchcraft switches complete the electronics package.
- Lead Circuit: Individual on/off switches for each pickup, a bass cut “strangle” switch for sharp, tic-tac tones, plus master volume and tone controls.
- Rhythm Circuit: Features an on/off switch, dedicated volume and tone wheels, and a specialized tone cap for the neck pickup, allowing for deep, darker tones.
This Jaguar is designed to give you the flexibility to move effortlessly from punchy, aggressive sounds to warm, textured tones. It’s a true player’s guitar, capturing everything that makes the Jaguar a unique and beloved instrument.
