Description
Boss DC-2 Dimension C – 1987 Blue Label
Why we love it
A stompbox-based cousin of the classic studio rackmount Roland SDD-320 Dimension D, an old secret sauce studio standby. Is it a chorus? An enhancer? Maybe just a “make better” pedal? Whatever it is, use it to access great sounding analog spatial sweetening with its intuitive four-button preset interface to subtly add width, depth, and thickness to a track.
Condition
This effects pedal is in Excellent (near Mint) condition. The build date of this unit is April 1987. This unit is a hair away from being mint as there are only a few very small marks on the case. We replaced the original deteriorating rubber screw gasket. This unit has been thoroughly cleaned and tested. All functions are operational. The original packaging and instructions are not included.
Overview
Just like the Roland Dimension D, the Boss Dimension C is analog processor from another dimension, so leave your typical approach for chorus and modulation at the door. There’s almost no tweaking here, you get four buttons to choose a preset. Let the unit’s unique analog spatial processing do the rest, as it magically enhances the width and depth of any sound. Chorus-like, sure, but with less swirly modulation and more width. Be sure to try it on vocals, keyboards, or anything else in addition to electric and acoustic guitars. While it works in mono, don’t forget it has stereo outputs, which is where this effect really shines. Great 3D spatial enhancement to make a track pop can be found here, though a different and subtler flavor than something like a Boss CE pedal.
