Condition
This 2019 ESP Edwards E-AK is in Mint condition—no chips, scratches, or dings anywhere. We’ve inspected every detail to ensure it’s as close to new as possible. The hardware and electronics are flawless, and even the protective film is still intact on the pickguard and tuning keys. That means beneath the film lies an untouched, mirrored pickguard just waiting to shine. (Pro tip: the “blue” look in the photos is just the film—this bass is as clean as it gets!) We’ve included a stock image of the model for comparison.
The neck is straight with zero warping or waviness and the frets show virtually no wear. The truss rod adjusts smoothly, offering plenty of room for adjustment. A professional setup has been completed including adjustment for optimal relief, medium action, spot-on intonation, and pickup height adjustment. Want a specific setup or string gauge? Let us know—we’ll have it dialed in for you before shipping. This bass weighs 9.2 pounds and it comes with a premium ESP gig bag featuring extra-thick padding and neck support for safe travels.
Overview
This 2019 ESP Edwards E-AK Silver Sparkle isn’t just another bass—it’s a statement piece. As part of ESP’s Japan-exclusive Edwards line, it combines high-end craftsmanship with killer value. Made in Japan with meticulous attention to detail, it features a bone nut, Gotoh hardware, and Seymour Duncan pickups, ensuring flawless performance.
This is the signature model of Aki, bassist for the Japanese band SID, and it delivers tones inspired by vintage Fender Jazz basses. With rich, punchy sound and versatile playability, this bass is a rock-solid choice for everything from live shows to studio sessions. Whether you’re grooving fingerstyle or rocking out with a pick, it’s a tonal powerhouse that fits rock, jazz, and beyond.
Tone & Electronics
The Seymour Duncan SJB-1 pickups are highly regarded for recreating the warm, midrange-rich tones of 1960s Jazz Basses. The neck pickup delivers full-bodied, smooth lows without being too boomy, while the bridge pickup adds punch and clarity. Together, these pickups provide a wide tonal range, perfect for everything from mellow, vintage tones to more aggressive growl you’d expect from a great J-style pickup. You can mix and match these pickups to dial in the perfect sound for any style.
