Overview
The 2015 ESP Edwards E-AM-150QM in Black Aqua is a hidden gem for bass enthusiasts with build quality and materials at least on par with the excellent Fender made in Japan instruments. Edwards, a Japan-exclusive line from ESP, has a well-earned reputation for producing marvelous instruments, and this bass is no exception. A 0.25-inch slab of solid maple sits atop a beautifully figured ash body. This combo ensures fast attack, clarity and punchy tone while maintaining classic Jazz Bass midrange growl. The Black Aqua finish is mesmerizing over the highly figured quilted maple top, resembling the depths of the ocean. A smooth, satin finish, all-maple neck featuring a comfortable 9.5-inch radius and sleek C-profile provides effortless playability (width and depth measurements below). A matching quilted maple veneer on the headstock completes its sophisticated look. Premium hardware, including lightweight Gotoh GB11W tuners and a stout Gotoh 404BO-4 brass bridge, ensures exceptional sustain and rock-solid tuning stability.

Electronics and Tone

The onboard 2-band Yuta preamp delivers enhanced control of bass and treble frequencies without overshadowing the natural tonal character of the wood. Whether you want aggressive punch or smooth warmth, you can dial in the perfect sound with ease. Equipped with Seymour Duncan SJB-1 pickups—renowned for their vintage Jazz Bass-inspired tones—this bass brings tight, growling lows and crystal-clear highs. The bridge pickup offers a touch of growl for added character, while the neck pickup provides full-bodied warmth, giving you the ultimate blend of tonal flexibility for any genre or style.

This ESP Edwards E-AM-150QM Jazz Bass is a rare treasure that delivers boutique-level performance without the boutique price tag. From its stunning quilted maple top and premium Gotoh hardware to its highly responsive Seymour Duncan pickups, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to impress. Whether you’re jamming at home, hitting the stage, or recording in the studio, this bass will inspire your creativity and elevate your sound.
