Condition

This bass is in Excellent (near mint) condition. There is a very small blemish on the tip of the headstock (pictured). The tuning keys have a light patina forming. The truss rod is in good working order with adjustability in both directions. The neck is straight with no signs of warping or waviness. The frets show almost no signs of use. The electronics are in perfect working order. It has been set up for medium (2.5mm 4th) action with optimally adjusted relief and intonation dialed in up and down the neck. This beautiful bass weighs in at 9.3 pounds. A Fender branded gig bag, warranty card, and tools are included.

Overview

This bass was part of a 2018 Fender Factory Special Run modeled after the 1975 Jazz Bass and also very similar to its made in Japan predecessor the JB-75. Period appropriate features include a natural finish beautifully figured ash body, vintage spec 7.25-inch radius 2-piece maple neck, 3-bolt neck joint with micro-tilt mechanism, black neck binding and block inlays, head-side bullet type truss rod nut, and large trapezoidal tuning peg plates. The neck shape follows suit with a vintage 70s appropriate U-profile with .88” depth at the 1st fret, 1” depth at the 12th fret, 1.5” nut width and 2.2” 12th fret width. Fit and finish is top notch with fantastic attention to detail for every aspect of the instrument. Whether plucked, slapped, or picked, the tone from the Fender Vintage-Style single-coil pickups is focused and growly with plenty of sizzle as you’d expect from a 70s Jazz Bass. Controls are traditional neck volume, bridge volume, and master tone.
