Fender Limited Run Traditional 60s Jazzmaster Wide-Range CuNiFe HH Black

Why we love it

This 2023 limited production made in Japan Jazzmaster feels fantastic to play and has incredible, bell-like tone with its two CuNiFe wide-range humbuckers, roasted maple neck, rosewood fretboard, and basswood body. The fit and finish is exceptional. This guitar is in Mint+ condition as it was purchased new and shows no signs of use. It has only been played to test that everything works as intended. A truly fantastic guitar made in very limited quantities.

Condition

This guitar is in Mint condition and shows no signs of prior use. It was tested upon arrival to ensure everything works and that the neck is in good condition. The original tremolo bar, Fender gig bag, warranty card and wrench are included. This Jazzmaster weighs 8.9 pounds. A much nicer Fender FE620 gig bag will be substituted for the original (less protective) gig bag and 15-foot Professor Nigel’s low-capacitance instrument cable of your choice will be included.

Overview

The made in Japan Traditional 60s Jazzmaster HH Limited Run Wide-Range CuNiFe Humbucker in Black was only available at the Fender Shop in a Japanese music retailer. Based on the Made in Japan Traditional 60s Jazzmaster, this guitar fuses Fender’s traditional instrument making aesthetics and specifications with Japan’s sophisticated craftsmanship. Interesting details abound, including matching black headstock, block position markers, and cream neck binding. Two CuNiFe Wide Range Humbuckers, which were also used in the recently released American Vintage II, are used for pickups. These use the same copper, nickel, and iron alloy composition as the originals. Compared to pickups that use alnico magnets, they feature a low output and full spectrum, pure, bell-like tone. Detailed and expressive, these pickups sound amazing for both clean and overdriven tones with excellent note definition whether playing chords or lead runs. CTS pots and a Switchcraft jack are used.

The easy playing 25.5-inch scale gloss finish maple neck has a slightly chunky U-profile neck that is quite comfortable in hand.  The 9.5-inch radius rosewood fingerboard features 21 exceptionally finished vintage style narrow-tall frets, gorgeous pearloid block inlays, and cream neck binding. Basswood is used for the body, contributing to balanced frequency response and snappy attack.
