Free Fender FB620 Gig Bag!
Why we love it
This stunning P-Bass channels the timeless character of a vintage ’60s P-Bass with the precision and quality you’d expect from a modern Fender made in Japan build. Known for crafting instruments that honor Fender’s legacy, the Japanese-made Traditional Series goes beyond just being “good for the price”—it’s an excellent bass that captures the warmth, punch, and presence of a classic Precision Bass.
Condition
This bass is in Excellent (near mint) condition with few indications of prior use. There is a very small ding on the player side of the lower bout (pictured). There are scattered fine surface scratches and a couple scratches on the neck plate. The pickguard still has the protective film and Fender Traditional Series sticker. The truss rod is in good working order with adjustability in both directions. The neck is straight with no signs of warping or waviness. The frets are in great condition with few signs of wear. The electronics are in perfect working order.
This bass weighs 7.8 pounds and feels well balanced in use. A professional setup has been completed with the neck adjusted for optimal relief, pickup height adjusted, D’Addario EXL 45-105 strings with dialed-in intonation and medium action. The original factory gig bag is available if you want it, but we will include a free brand new Fender FB620 gig bag to ensure this beautiful bass stays protected. Optionally, we can provide a Fender Classic hard case for an additional $145.
Overview
Modeled after a 1962 P-Bass, this bass features a basswood body with gleaming Sherwood Green Metallic finish and mint 3-ply pickguard. It is equipped with a vintage natural finish 2-piece maple neck with beautifully grained rosewood fingerboard. The neck feels great in hand, with a 1.65-inch (42mm) nut width and U profile that manages to be chunky without feeling clunky and slow. If an instrument can feel confidence inspiring, this one is right there.
Electronics and Tone
The original Vintage-Style Split Single-Coil Precision Bass pickup has a wide tonal range and is compatible with a wide range of genres. It is round without being muddy and warm without being dull and lifeless and fully reproduces the charm of the Precision Bass. The tone is thick, sweet, and punchy. Controls are traditional master volume and tone.
