Shipping Policy
Thank you for shopping with Professor Nigel’s. Please review our shipping policy carefully before completing your purchase. If you have specific delivery requests or questions, don’t hesitate to contact us via our Contact Page.
Note: This policy applies to purchases made on ProfessorNigels.com. Orders placed through Reverb.com or other sales channels may be subject to site-specific shipping, tax, and return policies, which can be viewed on their platform.
Order Processing & Fulfillment
- Orders are typically processed within 1–2 business days.
- We aim to ship same-day whenever possible, depending on order volume and carrier pickup times.
- Orders placed after 2:00 PM MST may be processed the following business day.
- Same-day shipping is not guaranteed.
Shipping Methods & Carriers
- We ship via UPS, FedEx, USPS, or the most reliable and economical carrier for your location.
- Expedited shipping is available upon request.
- All orders are shipped FOB (Free on Board) from our fulfillment location in Phoenix, AZ 85022, unless otherwise noted (e.g., manufacturer drop shipments).
Delivery Times & Service Levels
- Shipping service descriptions (e.g., "Next Day", "2-Day") refer to time in transit after shipment, not from the time the order is placed.
- Delivery estimates apply to urban areas within the continental U.S. Delivery to rural areas, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, APO/FPO addresses, and international destinations may take longer.
- UPS and FedEx shipments are delivered on business days only (Monday–Friday). Weekend delivery is not standard but may be arranged upon request—please contact us for options and availability.
Shipping Confirmation & Tracking
- Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information.
- If you do not receive tracking details within 2 business days of placing your order, please reach out via our Contact Page.
Signature Requirements
- Orders under $500 are shipped No Signature Required unless specifically requested.
- If you prefer Signature Required service, please let us know at checkout. Additional charges may apply.
Drop Shipments & Special Orders
- Some items may be shipped directly from the manufacturer or authorized distributor partner (drop-shipped) rather than from our Phoenix facility. These arrangements allow us to provide reliable access to specialized equipment while maintaining careful inventory discipline and efficient fulfillment.
- Estimated ship dates are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed, as processing and transit times may vary based on supplier availability, production schedules, and carrier conditions. Professor Nigel’s will communicate any material delays as soon as they are known.
- Availability for supplier-fulfilled items depends on real-time inventory information provided by third-party partners. In rare cases, an item may become unavailable after purchase due to allocation changes, inventory discrepancies, or supplier constraints. If this occurs, the Buyer will be notified promptly and the order will be canceled with a full refund.
- Drop-shipped items are typically shipped in sealed manufacturer packaging and may not be opened or inspected by Professor Nigel’s prior to shipment. Packaging and packing methods follow the supplier’s standard procedures. Professor Nigel’s remains responsible for order coordination and customer communication but does not physically handle these items before delivery.
- The Buyer is responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address at the time of purchase. Orders shipped directly from supplier facilities may not be eligible for rerouting, address correction, or delivery changes once processing begins. Additional shipping charges may apply if shipment changes are requested after release.
- Shipments refused by the Buyer, returned due to failed delivery attempts, or returned because of incorrect address information may be subject to return shipping costs, carrier fees, restocking charges, and any other expenses incurred in recovering the shipment.
- Tracking information for supplier-fulfilled items is typically issued once the shipment is released by the supplier facility. Processing timelines for these items may differ from orders shipped directly from Professor Nigel’s.
- Large or custom orders may require additional production time and may ship via freight services. In these cases, shipping charges may appear on a separate invoice.
- Items will not be substituted without the Buyer’s approval. If the exact item ordered becomes unavailable prior to shipment, the order will be canceled and refunded.
Shipping Charges & Quotes
- Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight, dimensions, and destination of your order.
- Charges will be prepaid and added to your order total unless otherwise arranged.
- Our team will provide the most accurate shipping quote possible at the time of order. Verbal quotes are estimates only and may differ from the final billed amount.
Dimensional Weight
- Carriers may charge based on dimensional weight (volume-based), which considers the size of the package relative to its actual weight.
- In some cases, dimensional weight charges may not be known until the package is packed and measured.
International Orders
- We gladly ship internationally. However, all import duties, taxes, and brokerage fees are the responsibility of the recipient.
- These charges are not included in your order total and will be collected by your local carrier upon delivery.
- We are not responsible for delays or refusals caused by customs clearance issues.
Lost or Damaged Shipments
- If your shipment arrives damaged or is lost in transit, please contact us within 5 business days of delivery so we can assist with a carrier claim.
- Claims may require photos and packaging evidence, so please retain all materials until the issue is resolved.
- For drop-shipped items, packaging and shipment may be handled directly by the manufacturer or distributor using their standard packaging procedures.
Additional Notes
- We do not ship to P.O. Boxes via UPS or FedEx. Please provide a valid street address for those services.
- In rare cases, orders flagged for fraud review may be delayed while we confirm the transaction’s legitimacy.
