Condition

This bass is in Excellent condition, showing light, honest signs of careful ownership consistent with normal handling and use, with no structural issues, repairs, or functional concerns. The finish remains clean and well-preserved, hardware is in excellent working order, and the electronics operate quietly and reliably. Please inspect promptly upon delivery. Preference-based returns must meet all return-policy conditions, including original condition, complete packaging, and advance authorization.

Professor’s Notes

Fast, comfortable, and immediately responsive, this is a beautifully built Japanese bass that turns exceptional materials into real working-player range. It has the clarity and punch you’d expect from ash and ebony, but with enough midrange authority to avoid feeling scooped or thin. From classic P and J leaning tones to modern hi-fi detail or Music Man-style grind, it’s a versatile professional bass that simply works.

Description

The Bacchus Handmade Series Twenty-Four represents the modern, performance-oriented side of Japanese boutique bass building — designed for players who need clarity, responsiveness, and flexibility without sacrificing feel. Built with an ash body, ebony fingerboard, 3-piece maple neck, rosewood-covered dual-coil humbuckers, and Bartolini XTCT active electronics, this instrument delivers tight low end, articulate attack, and dynamic response that translate easily from stage to studio.

The dual-coil pickups with coil-split capability allow the bass to move comfortably between traditional and modern voices. It can lean into classic P- and J-style warmth and punch, push forward with aggressive midrange grind, or open up for contemporary hi-fi clarity and definition. Importantly, while the ash and ebony combination provides the expected snap and articulation, this instrument retains strong midrange presence without sounding scooped or thin.

The neck profile is a comfortable modern J-bass shape that feels fast and natural under the hands, making extended playing sessions easy. Combined with a professional in-shop setup and fresh strings, this is a dependable working instrument built to perform consistently across genres and playing situations.
