Condition

This bass is in Excellent condition with normal signs of use and natural aging consistent with a lacquer-finished instrument that do not affect playability or functionality. There are shallow dents, scratches, and wear primarily on the back of the body and perimeter of the lower bout (pictured). There is also some lacquer burn on the back of the body (pictured).

The electronics remain original and function properly. The frets and nut are in very good condition with minimal wear and no buzzing. The neck is straight, and the truss rod adjusts smoothly in both directions. We replaced the original pickup foam to ensure proper pickup height and adjustability. The original factory pickguard protective film is still in place.

A thorough inspection has been performed to verify condition and ensure full functionality. The BJB-64V has been professionally set up with new 45–100 roundwound strings, optimal neck relief, medium action, accurate intonation, and dialed-in pickup height to ensure excellent playability upon arrival. Overview

The BJB-64V is Bacchus’ take on the early-1960s Jazz Bass formula, built during a period when the company was producing some of its most respected high-end instruments in Japan. Examples from the Vintage Series are already uncommon, and finding one in this condition — particularly in Green Metallic — is increasingly rare.

This bass pairs a premium 2-piece alder body with a slim C-profile maple neck, slab rosewood fretboard, bone nut, lacquer topcoat, and vintage-style hardware. The result is a bass that feels lively, resonant, and immediately familiar in the best way. Vintage Series Bacchus instruments remain special for a reason, and this one makes a strong case for why players continue to seek them out.

Electronics & Tone

With its alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, and Bacchus Alnico 5 pickups, the BJB-64V delivers the warm, punchy, articulate voice you want from a great early-’60s-style Jazz Bass. The neck pickup is full and round with real weight, while the bridge pickup adds focus, growl, and detail without excessive bite.
