There are are very few signs of prior use on the exterior. There are no issues that impact sound or functionality. Professor’s Notes
The long-chip DD-3 is the sleeper: the same core circuit as the legendary DD-2, but packaged as a no-nonsense working player’s delay. The repeats are crisp without being cold, the feel is immediate, and it sits in a mix like it was born there — not a “feature list,” just a finished tool you can trust night after night.
Professor’s Tips
- Start with the “tape trick,” digitally: set Delay Time ~300–450ms, Feedback low (2–3 repeats), and Effect Level just under unity — instant depth without clutter.
- Slapback that doesn’t shout: 50–110ms, 1 repeat, low mix. It thickens cleans and tightens overdrive without announcing “delay.”
- The DD-3 loves edge-of-breakup. Put it after drives for the most natural, record-ready repeat shape.
- Keep Feedback conservative live. This circuit stays articulate; too much Feedback can crowd your transients fast. Two to four repeats is the sweet spot for most songs.
- Use the Direct Out intentionally. Run Direct Out to your main amp and Effect Out to a second amp/return for width that’s clean and controlled (and still feels like “your guitar,” just larger).
- For dotted-eighth-ish parts without tap tempo: set the time by ear to the song once, then leave it — the DD-3 rewards commitment more than constant tweaking.
