Professor’s Notes

Steelpark is the kind of boost you leave on because everything just starts behaving better. It adds presence, clarity, and headroom without changing the core voice of your guitar or amp — from subtle polish to a powerful front-end push when you need it.

Description

The Laney Black Country Customs Steelpark is a studio-quality boost designed to enhance the natural voice of your guitar and amplifier rather than reshape it. Inspired by the clarity and punch of classic studio preamps, Steelpark provides transparent gain that increases definition, articulation, and presence without sacrificing the character of your rig.

Unlike many boost pedals that simply raise volume, Steelpark includes active EQ shaping and gain options so it can function as both a clean signal enhancer and a powerful front-end driver.

Three selectable gain modes allow the pedal to adapt to different roles:

  • 0 dB Mode – pure unity buffer and signal conditioning
  • +10 dB Mode – clean boost for added presence and articulation
  • +20 dB Mode – strong front-end push to drive amps harder or elevate leads

The Tilt EQ control lets you subtly rebalance bass and treble with a single knob, allowing quick tonal refinement without complicated EQ adjustments. A dedicated Level control manages output gain, while the Gain knob determines how hard the signal is pushed internally.

Used conservatively, Steelpark acts like a high-quality signal conditioner that tightens response and improves clarity. Turn it up and it becomes a powerful tool for pushing tube amps into richer breakup or lifting solos above the mix.

Professor’s Tips

  • “Always-on polish”: Set +10 dB mode, Gain low, and adjust Tilt until the guitar feels clearer and more present.
  • Edge-of-breakup driver: Use +20 dB mode, increase Gain slightly, and raise Level to push the amp into earlier, richer clipping.
  • Quick tone balance: Use the Tilt EQ instead of your amp EQ to subtly tighten low end or add sparkle without disturbing your core amp settings.
