Description

Commissioned as Tony Iommi’s only authorized signature boost, the TI-BOOST is built around the same fundamental idea as his legendary modified Rangemaster approach: significant bass cut with a pronounced mid push to keep driven tones articulate and present in a mix. Laney expands the concept with extra gain on tap and a custom 3-way MID switch so you can choose how the midrange speaks for your rig — from tight, focused rhythm tones to more aggressive lead push.

Unlike traditional treble boosters that can feel overly narrow or brittle, the TI-BOOST includes dedicated Low and High controls so you can fine-tune the shape of the boost for modern rigs and different amplifiers. Used with restraint, it works beautifully as an always-on front-end shaper that tightens low end and helps chords speak clearly. Turn up the Drive and Volume and it becomes a full-blown lead weapon.

Professor’s Tips / Quick Start

• Laney-style amps (tight British crunch): Start with Drive low, Volume up. Let the TI-BOOST tighten the low end while the MID switch places the guitar forward in the mix.
• Fender-style amps (bigger low end): Raise Low slightly while keeping the pedal’s natural bass control working to focus the amp’s wider bottom end.
• Two great ways to use it:
  • Always-on tone shaper for tighter rhythm response
  • Front-end push to drive the amp harder and add sustain for leads
