Professor’s Notes
Build sonic structures for guitar, bass or synth that twist, shimmer, and evolve. The Atomic Cluster turns simple phrases into rhythmic patterns or textured pads that breathe and change with each note you play.
Description
The Electro-Harmonix Pico Atomic Cluster is a compact spectral decomposer that transforms your instrument into a pulsing, reactive texture generator. It breaks your tone into discrete “atoms” of sound, then reassembles them into evolving motion—part glitch sequencer, part ambient synth. The result can range from fractured rhythmic patterns to swelling, cloud-like pads that blur the line between organic and electronic.
The Atoms control determines how many oscillations are active, shifting the texture from sparse and pointillistic to dense and swirling. Speed sets the refresh rate of those oscillations, adjustable by knob or tap tempo, while Blend balances clean and processed tones. A Mode switch toggles between Sharp transitions for choppy arpeggiations or Smooth mode for gradual, evolving layers. Despite its compact Pico format, the Atomic Cluster opens an entire new sound world—perfect for experimental guitarists, synth explorers, and anyone drawn to unpredictability and motion.
