Oopegg Trailbreaker Mark-II Transparent Black Curly Flamed Maple – Supreme Collection Limited Edition – Made in Japan

Professor Nigel's is an authorized Oopegg dealer. This is a brand new instrument and includes the factory gig bag, tools and full manufacturer warranty.

Professor’s Notes
This is the kind of guitar that feels fast, alive, and complete the moment you pick it up. It combines snap, air, and immediacy with the fuller push of dual custom hot humbuckers, while the curly flamed maple top under Transparent Black gives it a darker, more understated drama. Responsive, articulate, and quietly serious, it’s an instrument to savor.

Description
The Oopegg Supreme Collection Trailbreaker Mark-2 w. Tremolo is a handmade boutique Japanese semi-acoustic instrument built with a beautifully figured curly flamed maple top over an alder body, a maple/walnut 5-ply neck, rosewood fingerboard, and a Gotoh tremolo bridge with Raw Vintage springs. It carries the same short 24.75" scale that makes the Trailbreaker line feel quick and inviting, but without giving up note focus or clarity across the fingerboard.

This configuration carries a bit more push, with a pair of Euphoreal Custom Hot Humbuckers that bring authority, density, and a broader gain-ready range while still letting the guitar’s semi-acoustic character come through. There is still air in the response and openness in the way chords bloom, but the overall voice is thicker, more driving, and more assertive.

The Transparent Black finish lets the curly flamed maple do the talking without turning the guitar into a novelty object. The figuring has depth and movement, the matching headstock ties the whole instrument together, and the cream binding gives the darker finish just enough contrast to feel complete.

The neck profile is Oopegg’s Modern D, paired with a 12" radius and thin matte urethane back finish. In practice, that means a shape that feels substantial enough to anchor your hand, but modern enough to stay comfortable and fast over long playing sessions. The Gotoh hardware, locking tuners, and carefully considered control layout reinforce the same overall impression: this is not a guitar trying to impress with excess. It is a highly resolved, professional instrument built to respond.

Both tone pots feature a push/pull passive capacitor filter for each humbucker, adding useful additional voices to the instrument. Instead of simply rolling off highs, it subtly reshapes the midrange and treble response, tightening the attack and focusing the sound when engaged. It’s a musical, practical feature that helps the guitar adapt easily to different rigs, gain levels, and playing styles without changing the fundamental character of the instrument.

Oopegg guitars are built in small numbers by a dedicated workshop in Japan, where the focus is on feel, consistency, and real-world musical performance rather than mass production. Each instrument reflects careful hands-on work, and subtle variations in resonance and response are part of what gives these guitars their personality.
