Professor Nigel's is an authorized Oopegg dealer. This is a manufacturer demo instrument and includes the factory gig bag, tools and full manufacturer warranty.

Condition

This instrument was a manufacturer demo and is in Excellent condition that shows minor signs of prior use.. It remains structurally sound, fully functional, and covered by the original factory warranty.

There is very slight cosmetic wear at the lower bout arm contour (pictured), visible as a small area of finish wear from normal handling during evaluation. The wear is consistent with careful in-shop handling and evaluation, and does not affect playability, tone, or long-term reliability.

Aside from this small area, the guitar presents cleanly, has been carefully inspected, and professionally set up at Professor Nigel’s to ensure it arrives ready to play.

Professor’s Notes

This one feels unusually tactile, precise and purposeful from the moment you pick it up. The solid mahogany body, thin finish, satin neck, and beautifully tight tolerances create a direct physical connection, while the G5 Vibratoand  dual Euphoreal P-90s keep the voice open, dynamic, and expressive. Everything about it feels intentional: the attack, the fit, the hardware, and the way the whole guitar responds as one piece.

Description

The Trailbreaker Special takes the same core design philosophy as the Trailbreaker Mk-1 and applies a more streamlined, traditional approach. The mahogany body brings focus and immediacy, while the maple and walnut five-ply neck keeps the response quick and controlled across clean and driven tones. It’s a guitar that feels deliberate and mechanically precise, with a physical feedback that encourages confident playing without excess weight or resistance.

This instrument exudes exceptional construction quality. The thin urethane body finish, satin neck, stable hardware, and tight overall tolerances create a very direct connection between player and instrument. Notes start quickly, chords stay organized, and the guitar maintains composure even as gain and volume increase. It has the reassuring feel of a well-built tool — responsive, predictable, and ready to work.

The pickup set reflects that same design intent. These Euphoreal Custom P-90 pickups are hand-wound in Japan, and they are voiced for clarity, dynamic response, and musical balance rather than sheer output. They sit comfortably between traditional single-coil articulation and humbucker fullness, keeping chords defined and leads focused while preserving the expressive touch sensitivity that makes this guitar so rewarding to play.

In practical use, that means:

  • Clean tones stay clear and immediate
  • Chords remain defined under gain
  • Leads hold together without harshness
  • Picking dynamics translate naturally
  • The guitar responds quickly to touch and volume changes

Oopegg guitars are built in small numbers by a dedicated workshop in Japan, where the focus is on feel, consistency, and real-world musical performance rather than mass production. Each instrument reflects careful hands-on work, and subtle variations in resonance and response are part of what give these guitars their personality.
