Condition

This preowned RYOGA Skater Std is in Excellent condition, with very minor signs of use. The original factory protective plastic is still in place on the pickguard and truss rod cover. You will receive the exact guitar shown in the photos. The truss rod is operating correctly with plenty of room in both directions. The neck is straight with no signs of warping. Frets show little to no wear. This guitar has been professionally inspected and set up with medium-low action and DR Pure Blues 10–46 strings. It can be adjusted to your basic setup preferences prior to shipping.

Professor’s Notes

The P-90 is the center of gravity here, with a thick, forward tone and just enough grind to make everything note have more weight to it. The bridge humbucker stays tight and articulate, more like a modern PAF than a high-output push, so the guitar never gets congested. It’s an easy instrument to sit into a mix with, because everything already feels voiced with intent.

This model carries over core ideas from RYOGA’s higher-end PRO series while simplifying materials, parts, and finishing methods for improved value. In practice, that gives you a guitar that feels focused, comfortable, and complete rather than stripped down.

The 24-fret layout and sculpted heel make upper-register playing easy, while the hardtail string-through bridge keeps the feel direct and stable. Tonally, the P-90 + humbucker configuration offers strong separation between clean, crunch, and lead sounds, with a coil tap on the bridge humbucker for added flexibility. The overall voice leans toward a clear midrange with controlled low end that sits well in a mix without crowding other instruments.
