An exquisite reproduction of the serial number 430 pedal from the highly sought after Klon Centaur “Short Tail” period with a small, pedalboard friendly footprint. All hand-wired components (no surface mount/SMD). Responsive and full of character without being overbearing, use it to add depth and dimension to your tone as a boost or overdrive.

Condition

This effects pedal is conservatively rated as Very Good condition with few exterior signs of prior use. There appears to have been internal 9v battery leakage which was cleaned up, leaving some marks on the inside of the milled aluminum case. There is no remaining residue and no damage at all to the circuit board or internal components. The pedal functions as new. The original box, instructions and unapplied adhesive feet and “Professional Overdrive” sticker are included. Thoroughly cleaned and tested with a compatible power supply and 9v battery.

Rare to find outside of Japan, the SUMO STOMP "Short Tail #S430" is an incredibly accurate boutique reproduction of serial number #S430 from the Klon Centaur Short Tail production period with a more pedalboard friendly footprint. With its double-stacked circuit boards, it measures even smaller than a Klon KTR while still using premium hand-wired chips, resistors and caps. As far as sound is concerned, it is intended to be a true “Klone” including tone and gain behavior. A flawlessly anodized CNC milled case with laser etched branding is used to house the Long Tail.

The Short Tail features all the big, open and warm tone of the original with wonderful midrange clarity and bump to cut through the mix. Responsive and dynamic, it adds depth and dimension to your tone without drastically altering the tone of your guitar or amp. It features a buffered bypass specification just like the original. The SUMO STOMP reproductions have become highly sought after just like the original.
