Description
The Siren defies convention. There are many cables on the market with "better" on-paper specifications. The capacitance rating for Canare GS-6 cable used for the Siren is 48.5 pF/ft (160 pF/m). However, don’t judge it based on one specification alone. While the Siren will exhibit a bit more high-frequency roll off for passive pickups, this has never concerned the Professor one bit. Why? The Siren pushes the midrange forward and rolls off treble in a wonderful way that compliments electric guitar and bass quite nicely, thank you. Use this cable to plug in your favorite guitar or bass with passive pickups into your favorite tube amp and you might fall victim to the Siren’s song for hours. It’s a subtle but complimentary EQ curve in a cable. It might be just what the doctor (or Professor) ordered for tonal variations when recording. Canare describes it as preserving a “bright, ringing characteristic sound” for instruments with Hi-Z (passive) pickups. The Professor’s old SG into a crunchy tube amp via The Siren? Yes, please. And we’ll be back for extra helpings. The Siren is a great choice for guitar, bass, keyboard or any unbalanced audio application. G&H copper core connectors will bend but resist breaking if stepped on. Additionally, the all metal construction means fewer plastic pieces prone to wear and breakage. These features add up to a cable ready for wear and tear you’ll throw at it on stage or in studio many years.
