Condition
This LS128F is in Excellent condition with minor signs of prior use. There are minor signs of fine pick swirls or surface handling marks visible in direct light. We have pictured a few spots that are visible against the dark finish in certain lighting conditions but are typically not visible in normal lighting. There is a very small chip on the back perimeter of the lower bout (pictured). There are two small chips at the top of the headstock (pictured). The hardware is clean with minimal visible patina. The electronics function perfectly. The frets show few signs of wear. The neck is straight with no warping or waviness and the truss rod turns smoothly in both directions. This LS128F has been professionally set up with D’Addario EXL 10-46 roundwound strings, medium action, optimal relief, spot on intonation and dialed in pickup height. A mint condition black Gator hard shell case is included.

The 24.75-in scale mahogany neck sits comfortably in hand with a masterfully shaped hybrid 50's/60's U-profile capturing optimal characteristics from the best vintage LP neck profiles. The expertly fit vintage-style cream binding is applied around the perimeter of the body and neck, completely smooth with no gaps or notable seams. The indigo burst finish is an absolute stunner in person—dark, rich, and full of depth.

Tone and Electronics

The Tokai MK2 PAF-style humbuckers capture the open, woody response of vintage Alnico II magnets. The neck pickup offers syrupy mids with excellent string definition, while the bridge adds vocal midrange bite without excessive top-end sizzle. Compared to a USA Gibson LP, this Tokai offers slightly more high-mid transparency and a tighter bass response—especially noticeable with edge-of-breakup tones.
