Professor’s Notes

A chunky, textured fuzz that feels immediately usable rather than temperamental. It has its own voice—less like another Muff or Bender derivative—and the octave function does more than add upper harmonics: it can bring extra clarity, edge, and an almost gated breakup to the fuzz texture. The momentary/hold option makes that octave layer especially easy to use for riffs and leads without committing to it full-time.

Description

The Warm Audio Peach Fuzz is a limited-edition collaboration with The Black Keys, developed with Dan Auerbach and based on Warm Audio’s vintage-inspired ’70s Foxy-style fuzz and octave circuit.

The core fuzz is thick, textured, and unusually easy to dial in, with a character that feels distinct from the usual Muff- or Bender-style options. Volume and Sustain handle output and fuzz intensity, while the Mellow/Brite control continuously shapes the fuzz from warmer, rounder tones toward a brighter, more cutting response.

The real twist is the revised octave-up control. Rather than acting only as a dramatic special effect, the octave can also add extra clarity, edge, and a more ragged, almost gated texture to the fuzz. It can be used conventionally in Hold mode or triggered momentarily for riffs, accents, and solos.

Warm Audio builds the circuit with NOS Fairchild 2N3565 transistors, germanium 1N34A diodes, carbon resistors, and film capacitors, while the peach-colored flocked enclosure celebrates The Black Keys’ 2026 album Peaches!.

Controls

Volume — Sets the overall output level.

Sustain — Controls fuzz intensity and sustain, from lower-gain grit to thick, heavily saturated fuzz.

Mellow / Brite — Continuously shapes the fuzz voicing from warmer and rounder toward brighter, sharper, and more cutting.

Octave — Engages the octave-up effect.

Momentary / Hold — Selects whether the octave switch operates momentarily or remains latched on.
